"I kept a cat briefly," he mused. "She mostly kept herself." Pearl was Tobias' cat, really. The latest descendent of a 400-year-old line. He keep them to help keep himself sane when time went soft and green. That part Henry understood. Having Pearl around didn't help him much, though. "I can't think of anything that would be helpful."
After putting on his robe, he shucks off his underwear, tosses them on the bed, and follows after Gaura. The tip of his tail peeks out from under his robe, swaying contently. He smirks back at Henry. "For a scholar, that's very unhelpful," he jokes.
"Do we still have some coffee or have we run out?" He asks Gaura. The supply has been getting worse around the city but he's hopefully they haven't used the last of the beans. "Or are we stuck with tea?"
"We have coffee. I grow it." And since he could grow any plant he imagined, he'd grown it fully ready to be harvested. Since Tay was really the only one in the house who drank coffee regularly, they still had quite a lot of it.
"If there's not any in the kitchen there will be some in the pantry," Gaura informed him as he finished gathering clothes, including the underwear he'd need to clean from the bed.
Tay sticks out his tongue at Henry playfully. He really loves that guy! He's so funny and proper.
Their new cat has the sense to look a tiny bit contrite when Gaura goes to get the underwear. He could've done that! He just hadn't been thinking.. oh well.
"You can grow coffee here? I thought it had to be in some kind of hot climate," Tay remarks after Henry left. "Or does that matter with your abilities?"
"The trees are in the greenhouse. I can't produce more right now because I don't have the room but I was able to grow enough to be able to have coffee for a good bit of time for this house." At least for a couple months since Tay was the only one who really drank it consistently.
Taking the clothes to the other room, he carefully stacked the pile that didn't need cleaning in one place and took the other to the next room to take care of later. He'd have to do all that by hand so he'd take care of the tailoring first. Which he grabbed his sewing kit for and came back so that way he could sit down and get started on that.
"And why should you? You're not responsible for others like that. If they want it so bad, they should grow some themselves," Tay says loyally. He just hadn't thought of how someone would grow coffee before. "As long as we have some, you won't hear me complaining!"
That's mostly true. If Kinn goes too long without coffee, he might become boorish and then Tay will be complaining but that (or just invite him over here).
"I really appreciate this help. I tried sewing once or twice and I couldn't stand it. I kept pricking my finger and nothing ever came out the way I wanted it to. It hadn't seemed worth it when I could just send anything to my tailor."

"You two can deal with the clothes. I'll go start the coffee."
